You have to buy a ticket at the gate before entrace. There is a nature reserve located until you go to the top. You are not allowed to get down from vehicle until you reach the top. There is a large car park. There is restaurent washrooms etc at the top. You get a nice view of nuwaraeliya town. There are many television, radar, radio towers at the top. There is temple located at the top. Inside the temple just behind the stupa, the highest natural point is located.

I visited Pidurutalagala Summit and it was a really nice experience overall. As the highest mountain in Sri Lanka, it’s definitely a place worth visiting if you’re around Nuwara Eliya. One of the best things is that you can actually go all the way to the summit by vehicle, so it’s very accessible even if you’re not into hiking. However, you do need to get tickets for both yourself and the vehicle at the entrance, so it’s good to be prepared for that. The drive up is quite scenic, surrounded by forest and cool mountain air. Once you reach the top, the view is beautiful especially on a clear day. You can see vast stretches of greenery and the surrounding landscape, which makes it feel really peaceful and refreshing. It’s not a place where you spend a lot of time walking around, but more of a quick visit to enjoy the view and the experience of being at the highest point in the country. Overall, a simple but worthwhile visit if you’re in the area.
