This ancient site holds great significance as the believed location of Sita Maa's Agni Pariksha While the architecture is not distinctly Hindu, there's a small, modern Sita Mata temple within the main Buddhist complex. There's an entry fee of 500 LKR which would not feel worth unless you're a true Ramayana believer.

This experience was exceptional, exceeding my expectations. While planning activities for my journey from Nuwara to Ella, I discovered this location on the map and included it in my itinerary. I am very pleased with this decision. The site is approximately 40 minutes from Seetha Eliya. In Hindu Mythology, this is where Seetha underwent the agni pariksha after the war in Lanka. The site is also a Buddhist monastery. I arrived sometime after 2 PM, and it was completely empty. The entry ticket was 300 INR; they accepted Indian currency. The temple guide gave us a tour and explained everything, from the monastery to the Seetha temple. They showed us the areas where Seetha lived during her time in Lanka and where she underwent the Agnee Pariksha. There are various paintings inside that depict the story of the Ramayana. There is also a statue of Hanuman Ji that they mentioned is carved out of a single block of wood. It was impressive, shared the picture of that. There are also multiple statues of Buddha. I believe they mentioned that there are 28 forms of Buddha represented here. Apologies if I got that wrong. For the final temple inside, another priest arrived, allowed us to open the temple, and performed an artee for us. They informed us that some of the idols inside were gifted to the temple by the Madhya Pradesh government. Overall, this was an amazing experience, and I believe that because we were alone, the staff was able to give us an excellent tour, for which they did not ask for any payment.

We visited in November 2024 place is so beautiful and have a significant Hindu religious belief but it was named as Buddhist stupa since both Hindu and Buddhist protected that place. It was the place where last fight between lord Ram and Ravan happened and mata Sita gave Agni pariksha. This is the place where Ravan worship lord shiva. There is only Belpata tree in Srilanka.

Its where Sita took her agni pariksha. The place is well located in the heart of the Ramayana tale. The last battle was fought here, and the nearby town is called Ramalanka. The Ashok Vatika area here has the local ashoka tree with flowers. The Ishtreepura mountains are right behind, across the fields. It seems that Ravana did his meditation here. That there are golden palaces under the earth here and tunnels. The guide may hype up some info, but interesting to hear the stories. There are some wall paintings inside the main temple, at the backside.
